01Local knowledge
What we see in Rockland homes
Rockland's older neighbourhoods near the river and the main street have houses that have been renovated many times. Additions and finished basements are common, and they often end up on ductwork that was never extended to suit them. Fixing that airflow can matter as much as the furnace itself.
Newer subdivisions have filled in much of the town over the past couple of decades. Those homes usually have forced-air gas heat and central air of a similar age, which means the furnace and air conditioner tend to need replacing around the same time. Doing both together, or adding a heat pump, saves a second visit later.
In the rural parts of Clarence-Rockland, many homes are beyond the gas line and heat with oil, propane or electricity. For those houses, a cold-climate heat pump can lower heating costs and add cooling, and provincial rebates are larger for homes not heated by natural gas.

About 40 km from Rockland
Do you come out to Rockland?
Yes. Apple HVAC serves Rockland and Clarence-Rockland from our Ottawa shop, which is about 40 km away in a straight line. A quote for new equipment costs you nothing.
Should I replace my furnace and air conditioner at the same time?
If both are the same age and nearing the end of their life, replacing them together means matched equipment and one installation. If only one is failing, we'll tell you honestly whether the other has years left.
Our basement and addition are always colder than the rest of the house. Why?
Usually because they were added onto ductwork sized for the original house, with too few supply runs or no return air. We can measure the airflow and suggest changes to the ducts before you consider new equipment.
