Heating & cooling in Westboro
Our shop on Avenue Chatelain is a short drive from Westboro. We know the houses here: post-war brick bungalows, 1920s two-storeys with radiators, and new infill semis with barely a metre of side yard.

What we see in Westboro homes
Older Westboro houses often still run on hot-water boilers and cast-iron radiators. They heat well, but there are no ducts for central air. Ductless mini-splits are the cleanest way to add cooling, and to supplement heating, without opening walls.
The infill semis and narrow-lot rebuilds have the opposite problem: modern ducts, but nowhere to put a big square condenser. Slim side-discharge heat pumps like the Goodman SD Series fit in the side-yard clearance these lots actually have.
In between are the 1950s–70s bungalows and split-levels with original ductwork and a furnace on its second or third replacement. Many of them suit a hybrid heat pump that keeps the gas furnace as backup.

Do you charge a travel fee in Westboro?
Our shop is a short drive away in Ottawa's west end. Estimates for new equipment are free.
Can I get central air in an older Westboro home with radiators?
Yes. The usual approach is a ductless mini-split system: one outdoor unit and slim indoor heads in the rooms that need cooling. It also gives you efficient heat in the shoulder seasons, so the boiler runs less.
My side yard is very narrow. Can I still get a heat pump?
Usually. Side-discharge units like the Goodman SD Series are designed for tight spaces. We'll measure clearances at the estimate and confirm what fits and meets the City's setback rules.
