02The install
What we offer commercial clients
Commercial systems are bigger, but the principles are the same: size it right, install it cleanly, and maintain it properly.
Equipment assessment
We inspect existing units, controls and ductwork, and give you an honest view of what has life left and what should be planned for replacement.
Load and layout review
For fit-outs and renovations, we look at occupancy, equipment heat and the new layout so the system matches how the space is used.
Installation and replacement
Rooftop units, split systems and ductless units installed by licensed technicians, coordinated with your contractor, landlord or property manager.
Repairs
We diagnose and repair heating and cooling equipment and explain the fault and cost before doing the work.
Planned maintenance
Scheduled inspections, filter changes, coil cleaning and safety checks, set around your building's seasons and hours.
Clear records
Written findings after each visit, so owners and managers know what was done and what's coming up.
04Options
Systems we work on
Most small commercial buildings in Ottawa use one or more of these.
Rooftop units
Best for: Retail, offices and single-storey commercial
Packaged heating and cooling on the roof, ducted to the space below. Common on plazas and low-rise buildings. Regular maintenance matters because they sit exposed through Ottawa winters.
Split and ductless systems
Best for: Small offices, clinics and server or equipment rooms
Furnace-and-AC splits, heat pumps and ductless heads for smaller spaces, tenant units and rooms that need their own cooling.
Maintenance contracts
Best for: Owners and property managers
Scheduled visits for the equipment in your building, agreed in writing, so problems are caught before they close a store or empty an office.

What does commercial HVAC cost?
Cost depends on the size and number of units, roof access and any crane lift, ductwork and controls changes, and whether the work has to happen outside business hours.
Maintenance pricing depends on how many units you have and how often they're serviced. We give you every price in writing before work starts.
When a unit is near the end of its life, it's usually cheaper to plan the replacement for a mild month than to replace it in a rush during a heat wave or a cold snap. We'll help you put a realistic timeline and budget together for the equipment in your building.
Rebates & financing
Some utility and government programs offer incentives for higher-efficiency commercial equipment, but they change often and depend on the building. We can check what's available when we prepare a replacement proposal.
Current programsDo you work on rooftop units?
Yes. We install, repair and maintain packaged rooftop heating and cooling units for small commercial buildings. We also look at the curb, the roof penetrations and the ductwork below, since leaks and poor airflow there cause many of the complaints blamed on the unit itself.
How often should commercial HVAC be serviced?
At least twice a year for most systems: before the heating season and before the cooling season. Busy spaces, restaurants and dusty environments may need filters changed more often.
Can you work around our business hours?
We plan scheduled work with you and try to keep disruption to a minimum. Tell us your hours, your busy seasons and any access rules for the roof or mechanical room at the site visit, and we'll build the schedule around them.
Do you work with property managers and landlords?
Yes. We can report to owners, managers and tenants, and provide written findings after each visit so everyone has the same information.
Should we repair or replace an old rooftop unit?
It depends on age, the cost of the repair and how much the unit is costing to run. If a unit is near the end of its life, we'll show you the repair cost alongside a replacement so you can plan the budget.
Are your technicians licensed?
Yes. Our technicians are licensed, and Apple HVAC is an HRAI member and TSSA-affiliated. Gas-fired commercial equipment in Ontario has to be installed and serviced by licensed gas technicians, so ask any contractor you hire to confirm it.
